According to the U.S. 45 label for "Empty Tables/The Saddest Thing Of All" (RPS 1343), the matrix number is RCA4028, indicating the June 22, 1973 session. However, "The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings" box set book states that the RPS 1343 single was derived from the May 7, 1974 version (master no. SCA4720).
